How to Take a Tequila Shot

To properly take a shot of tequila (or tequila cruda), you need salt, tequila, and lime, all in that order. Just remember is "lick, shoot, suck": Traditionally one would lick the salt off of their hand, drink the shot swiftly, and finish by sucking on a lime wedge. Since the Cestari shot glasses are made of pink Himalayan salt, the shots with these shot glasses are only two steps – shoot and suck.

This method is a hit at parties. It does, however, contradict tequila connoisseurs’ recommendation to savor the taste and aroma slowly when drinking straight tequila. However, enjoying a tequila shot this way adds fun to a gathering and helps temper the astringency of the alcohol.
